Ft. Hood Army Base
AbilityOne is the link that brings everything
together to provide a total base solution. AbilityOne
is proud to support America’s troops stationed
on base as well as those in the local Fort Hood
community.
AbiltyOne provides a wide array of services
at Fort Hood Army Base in Texas. Fort Hood is
one of the largest military posts worldwide with
over 52,000 soldiers and their 100,000 family
members stationed here. The base is also the
largest single location employer in the state,
with over 12,000 civilian employees and contractors.
AbilityOne’s dedicated team delivers the support
required to meet the operational needs at Fort
Hood, such as:
- Administrative: employees
process PMO crime records and provide
administration services for the Fort
Hood, III Mobile Armored Corps and prepare
approximately 170 annual draft responses
to complaints for the Crime Record’s & Services
Branch. Staff create, edit, review and
analyze nearly 10,000 unedited and non-coded
MP and Criminal Investigation Division
reports and other paperwork per year.
They also proofread, edit and correct
documents to achieve 100% error-free
quality assurance.
- Facility Management: personnel
provide all management, supplies, equipment,
parts, and labor as well as tools to phase-in,
phase-out, furnish, install, replace, maintain,
and repair leased washers and dryers on base
for use by the troops and support personnel
in living quarters, child care development
centers, laundry rooms, laundromats and gymnasiums.
- Fleet Management: staff
operate auxiliary power and air start units,
mobile staircase vehicles, follow-me vehicles
and cargo loading/unloading units. Personnel
also operate sweepers and conduct sweeping
operations of ramps, taxiways and runways for
the control and removal of foreign objects
including animals and livestock.
- Food Service: employees
oversee 13 dining facilities, serving over
3 million meals annually. Additionally they
clean facilities, bus tables, provide cashier
services, food preparation/serving and menu
planning, rotate stock, handle cash collection/deposits,
supply information and inventory management,
maintain and replace equipment, dispose of
trash, and provide floor and window care.
- Warehouse: personnel operate
12 warehouses on base, receive approximately
47,000 items per month and ship to other units
throughout the Army. The warehouse workforce
identify, catalog, receive, store, issue, package/crate
and ship supplies, material and equipment as
required. Staff also identify and store hazardous
materials and radioactive supplies.

FT. HOOD NEWS UPDATE:
The AbilityOne Program has over 300 employees that work at Ft. Hood in support of the war fighter and their mission. Each was reported safe after the November 5th event.
